No there's not - have you tried the alternative I suggested above?
Just loaded the program and can immediately see the difference - thank you for that. Never noticed a problem with Win Photo Viewer in earlier iterations of Win - must be something MS have done in Win 7 onwards?

What colour space are you saving the images in, or if shooting Jpeg, what colour profile are you using on the camera? Adobe RGB will look washed out in Windows Photo Viewer. For display on the web, or in the photo viewer, they need to be saved in sRGB.
Camera set to sRGB. However, it is the fact that when I view an image on the web, i.e. the puffins, from an earlier post, they look fine. When viewed via Win Photo viewer they look grey and washed out - as per the link in my OP.
There does not appear to be a way of adjusting the image display properties in Win Photo Viewer.

Not sure if this is my setup or what...When viewing an image in Win Photo Viewer, the colours are very washed out and seem to have a blue grey tinge. The view in Adobe Photoshop or Picasa for instance is fine. Just viewed the excellent Puffin images from Skomer. They looked great, viewing through the site but when I open them, in Win Photo Viewer, the images are totally lack lustre. Is this something that can be sorted from within Win Photo Viewer or within Windows? Using Win 7 Prof 64bit - if that has any relevance. Any help/advice appreciated.

My wife uses this lens when out and about. Light weight and gives a good range of distance and carrying it around on her K10D is not a problem. The images are surprisingly good, so it is a keeper.

Looks like a good start! Shame the links on the links page are not actually hyperlinks to the actual suggested sites/pages.

We will be there in June - Taking the camera will be a must, in order to record our Grandaughters time there - Grandma said so.

(Got to justify the expense of all my photo gear!)
