PU members have the first chance to buy this ultra rare ultra-telephoto lens, of which I am told only 6 were made in Pentax fit. I am selling on behalf of a friend of mine who was the first owner. He bought it directly from Sigma a few years ago and has used it on safari trips to Kenya. Now, however, he feels it is getting too heavy for him.

I have tried it out and the relatively wide aperture makes it superb for isolating subjects from the background. Handling, AF and sharpness are all excellent and the lens is in excellent condition. You will find some signs of use, perhaps some brassing on a corner, perhaps some dust, but overall a very nice lens.

The asking price is 2800.00 and UK shipping is 30.00 by Special Delivery. Delivery or collection can be discussed.

I've posted sample images on PU and on my EPZ blog. Any questions, please ask, and I'll leave this on here for at least two weeks for you to mull it over.
Best regards, John

As I said John a bit beyond my pension. I've got a
Sigma 400 and my Bigma so I'll have to stick with them.
CHEERS Vic.
Born again biker with lots of Pentax bits. Every day I wake up is a good day. I'm so old I don't even buy green bananas.

If I was to buy a ticket and win big I think I would get Sigma to make a Pentax fit 200-500 f2.8 zoom lens. Now that's a beast of a lens.
I love your pics John but I can't afford your lens.

Not so far David, but I'm not in a hurry. Let's give PU a fair chance first before we go to alternative routes. It's also on offer to ADAPS members, but there will be nobody else in the running for a while yet.

There are no real guides available to a UK price for this, as in Pentax mount none were ever offered for sale here. This one came straight from Japan, even being unavailable to any but professional photographers. Not sure why that was, but no doubt there was a reason.

I've spoken to a few people now and soon it will be going to eBay at a BIN price of 2500.00.

This means I could happily offer it here for 2400.00 including delivery, but UK only I'm afraid. It's too expensive to send overseas and difficult to get the right level of insurance. UK would be Special Delivery, arriving next day before 1pm.

So, last chance here before it moves on to other places.
Best regards, John
