Sorry to be a pain but I am working on a free website (for now) and I would like to know what the rest of you think of it? Is there anything i should change etc.

I am only learning so It might not be very good. I tried webs but that said I had reached my limit on how much I could do. Many thanks for looking.

Here is the link:

Looks like a good start! Shame the links on the links page are not actually hyperlinks to the actual suggested sites/pages.
Regards
David

Retired at last - now all that time for photography - you would think: wink:

Some nice pictures there.

But please, please, change "Photo's" to "Photos".

The plural of photo is photos.

Just an "s" required. Using an apostrophe to just make a plural is always wrong, and although you often see it written wrongly like that, for presentation purposes, it's really not on.

Pentax K-3, DA18-135, DA35 F2.4, DA17-70, DA55-300, FA28-200, A50 F1.7, A100 F4 Macro, A400 F5.6, Sigma 10-20 EXDC, 50-500 F4.5-6.3 APO DG OS Samsung flash SEF-54PZF(x2)

in this case the apostrophe is representing "graph" which is missing...or am I being grammar gestapo
apology for being off topic

Or it's possessive?

On topic, however, I also like your site Aura.

I'd find a modern looking layout. It looks like an early website from the late 1990s.

If you're going to keep up a blog on it I'd have that on the home page to encourage people to keep checking by
[i]Bodies: 1x K-5IIs, 2x K-5, Sony TX-5, Nokia 808
Lenses: Pentax DA 10-17mm ED(IF) Fish Eye, Pentax DA 14mm f/2.8, Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8, Pentax-A 28mm f/2.8, Sigma 30mm F1.4 EX DC, Pentax-A 50mm f/1.2, Pentax-A 50mm f/1.4, Pentax-FA 50mm f/1.4, Pentax-A 50mm f/1.7, Pentax DA* 50-135mm f/2.8, Sigma 135-400mm APO DG, and more ..

No. "Photo" isn't written with a trailing apostrophe.

"Photo" is a long-established contraction which has been a word in its own right for decades. Its plural is simply photos.

As I said, an apostrophe simply to make a plural noun out of a singular one is always wrong. Unusually for English, no exceptions.

I've had to do an examples in image form as the forum software changes the HTML into an actual hyperlink

The target="_blank" is important is it opens the link in another window and so your site doesn't get closed

I did not say it was correct, I offered it as a viable alternative which was the best option available at that time.

Not sure about the wooden background, it doesn't quite work for a modern photography website, are there simpler/darker ones you could try? I like the general layout though

Michael

I have changed that now and have gone for a plain background, can you please tell me if that works better please?

I don't see a different background there, just the same wooden panelling

Michael
