...probably the 10-17 fisheye as well because I have just always thought it was fun to shoot and much better than most people think it will be.
Definitely do this. The 10-17 is so much better than I thought it ever would be

I've used live view with K3 + FluCard on top of a 2m monopod. It's pretty effective, but I found that (in the field) it hammered my iPhone battery. I would definitely recommend a battery pack for the phone/tablet!

Also be aware that the Flucard takes ages to boot. It's about 20 or 30s (IIRC) from turning on the camera until being able to connect. It's a pain that this happens each time the camera goes to sleep

...so having built in WiFi in the K1 looks a much better option to me

If you are using a reversed lens, I'd suggest an old prime. The 18-55 won't work because of the aperture lever.

A 50mm prime is pretty good, but for super macro (and a VERY close focus distance) a 35mm or 28mm prime is better. I would recommend picking up a second hand (e.g. charity shop) prime lens that has an aperture ring from any manufacturer. (Doesn't have to be compatible with Pentax!)

Then you can experiment just by holding the lens in front, or tape them, or buy a cheap reversing ring to suit your zoom lenses.

This kind of macro isn't suitable for all subjects. It won't work for insects as the focus distance can be as low as a few mm You can even get into negative distances, where the focal point is actually inside the lens. So experimentation is key

Have fun!

FWIW, the Olympus XZ-2 is pretty much the same spec (I suspect there was some collaboration with the MX-1).

P-TTL mode won't be able to work off camera (unless you use a 5 pin cable). It's likely the flash is refusing to fire if it's only seeing just the plain old trigger pin (from your wireless slave widgets).

I'd suggest trying the Metz in "M" mode, 1/64 power and check that all works.

I've just received the DA10-17 from Richard... such a tiny little lens (compared to the DA12-24), and a crazy angle of view. Interestingly, it's capable of some seriously close macro shots - which I'm definitely going to enjoy

In the past I've seen comments like "I'd like to know what the extra 2mm will give me" - but when compared against a rectilinear lens of the same focal length, the fisheye will always have a wide angle of view. So, I thought it best to show with some examples.

Do note - the two vignette lines above the frame on shot 1 were because I had composition adjust still enabled, and the lines are the shallow petal hood of the DA10-17

I've put the images in focal length order, with the length and lens name in the caption.

Hopefully you'll see that the DA10-17 at 17mm is actually fractionally wider than the DA12-24 at 12mm

Then I finished off with some flower macros.
Enjoy!

...and fisheye received. Almost immaculate condition, and huge amount of fun in such a tiny lens!
Excellent - thank you Richard!

Most recent year's worth on internal HDD with "YearYYYY-MM-DD Description" style folders (so they sort properly). Lightroom outputs go into subfolders of the image folder, and I usually save the camera JPG (when using RAW+JPG) in a subfolder "Camera JPG" for reference and quick access.

Then, synchronise to 2TB portable drive using Scooter Software's BeyondCompare.
And synchronise again to offsite 2TB desktop driver using BeyondCompare.

Lightroom generally keeps up, and Picasa is helpful too for rattling through my tens of thousands of images
