Can I have peoples opinion if it's worth upgrading this lens. I bought it when I had my K10D and now have a K3II. The Tamron 70-300 which I handed down to my daughter when I bought the 55-300 has given up the ghost and I am either considering a 2nd hand 55-300 or upgrading mine and doing another hand down.

I agree with the comments regarding the sigma 17-70. I bought it as a walkabout lens for my K3II and have been very pleased so far.

I have an issue with a Tamron 70-300 zoom. The ring to control the zoom just seems to spin rather than cause the lens to zoom in or out.

My question is this something simple that is wrong or something more serious.

I realise that the lens is probably not worth repairing, but I thought I would reach out through the forum.

I had to remove my manfrotto quick release plate from my K3 battery grip yesterday and now it wont go back on as I can retract the small screw at the front of the plate. Has anyone else had a similar issue and know how to resolve it?

Does anyone keep a DA* 300mm in a Lowepro lens case. If so which size is the one to buy?

I recently upgraded to a K3 II from a K 10D. My existing Pentax lenses that I have acquired after favourable recommendations on this forum are

Pentax 55-300
Pentax 16-45
Pentax 50mm 1.8

The one lens that I have been disappointed with since the upgrade is the

Tamron 18-200

The difference between cameras seems quite pronounced, therefore I am looking for a new walkabout lens so the thoughts on the Pentax 18-135 are welcome.

I'm also interested in people's thoughts on the 18-135. Yesterday I tried my Tamron 18-200 on my recently purchased K3. The difference in quality between images taken with lenses such as the highly regarded 16-45 and 55-300 was quite marked. Something I hadn't noticed so much when used on my K10D. Therefore I am thinking of something else as a walkabout lens.

I bought the K3 II battery grip and 50mm 1.8 lens between Christmas and New Year. They didn't have the lens in stock on the day, but I paid for it and they called 2 days later to say it was in stock. Also managed to "bag" a Lowepro passport slingshot for £13.50 . Similar bag in John Lewis was £42. Like everyone else can't fault their service

Just upgraded to the K3 II from the K10D as a result of the recent deal @ SRS. I now have to get used to a battery grip which I never had considered having before which is strange. Any tips on what new functions I need to discover will be most welcome.

Very interesting read. It made me wonder how many of us went through the

ME super -> ist D -> K10/20D route to the K5/K3 world of today
