Maybe it just means putting the aperture ring back on!

If it can do what K20 can in an MX sized body that would be ideal for me. Though I can't see it being that small, there'd be no room for batteries!
I'd imagine it will be more megapixels in a km sized body and HD video.
But they still need a wider wide lens (or zoom) and bigger telephoto to give the opposition a serious run for their money.

DonaldM has a Tamron 18-250 for sale at a very reasonable £190 at the moment if that helps.

Tempted, but skint.

Fantastic pictures on your flickr site by the way. One day....
Just biginning in landscapes, do you use a polariser or ND filters much because some of those skies are stunning? Sorry ,this is a bit off topic really!

Lots of good advice there. The 18-250 will cover 90% or more of most people's photography and it is a very nice little lens, but the down side is it's a bit on the slow side. (f3.5 -6.3). It's main advantage is that you always have the right lens on the camera!
If you want to go much wider than this the budget runs out very quickly.
The 16-45 and 55-300 combo is a very good one too.If you want to stay under the £400mark it's probably the way to go. But if you can find another £40 have a look at the Tamron 17-50. It's f2.8 and £260 and has had very good reviews.
I have the 55-300 Pentax zoom and I can't recommend it highly enough. The Tamron 70-300 looks tempting at half the price (or less if you're lucky) and it is good but the purple fringing on high contrast edges killed it for me and I traded up to the pentax, and I couldn't be happier.
Best advice is go somewhere that has them all ( a Pentax Pro centre for example)and handle them, preferably on the camera. Sometimes you find somethings just "work" better than others. Good luck and welcome aboard!

They are very good with anything by Pentax.

Yea, it would put Pentax right back up there with the "big boys".
It would also kill any hopes I had of eventually picking up a "cheap" 645n, or rather, glass for a cheap 645n.

A Nikon badged medium format camera, with Pentax based optics ?

All pure speculation on my part after a few beers. (Perhaps too many ?) Anyone else care to speculate ?
I think there'd be more interest in a "Pentax" Medium Format camera with Nikon based optics. Lenses are where the big money is made, and if Nikon were in the driving seat.....

Showing my age now but back in the 80's they were a fairly well respected third party lens maker. They weren't outstanding but their market was the people who weren't prepared to splash out on Pentax Tamron and Vivitar series 1 lenses. I can't quite remember but although the name suggests Japan to me for some reason I think they were German but I could be wrong. Try Google?
