£149 new at SRS

From my memory of the situation...
Pentax were the first "big" brand and were ahead of Nikon in the sixties.In the late sixties and early seventies Nikon caught up and pulled ahead but as I remember it Pentax and Nikon were the dominant forces with Canon and Olympus bringing up the rear. Through the seventies Canon and Olympus became more popular but I'd have put Nikon in the lead and Pentax second. I would say that it wasn't really until the very late 70's and early eighties that Canon became one of the big players.
At least that's how I saw it.

K4, better ergonomics than the K7...
I loved the feel of the K7. The K20 is just too big IMO. ( and I'm 6'5" with big hands).
Nobody complained about the MX.....

Prefer the original framing. If anything you could clone out the monument to maintain the balance if it upsets you that much.

Nice to see it back again (that will probably start rumours of an imminent FF pentax!)but it's a shame it's twice as much as you could have bought it for a year ago. I think the DA 35 is a better choice for this K20 user. But I can't bring myself to buy it for £450 ish when it was £289 a year ago.....and I already have the DA40.

I prefer the (first) HDR shot too but is is a bit too colourful. I agree that mixing a bit of the original back in to tone it down might do the trick.
However PPing is not my area of expertise..... ( among most other areas for that matter.:shock
I don't like the PS HDR as there are too many blown highlights otherwise it's nearly there.

Welcome to the pentax family...( we're probably all a little crazy)
I'll look forward to some Smoky Mountains landscapes too, if you can find a spot where the trees don't get in the way!

It also doesn't help that they use an "old" K10 for testing (which can't resolve as well as the larger K20 sensor) whereas the Canon and Nikon bodies they tend to use are "newer" with higher resolution sensors so the Pentax resolution scores will be lower relatively speaking.
