Can I just say I had the Sigma 150-600mm, Contemporary version, couldn't stretch to the sport, as it had better reviews then the Tamron offering, this was a Canon mount used on a original 7D to replace my 50-500mm combo.
Two copies later I've given up and not a match on the 50-500mm, now started saving for the Pentax 150-400mm which I tried out at srs and it's totally in a different league, but also in a different price bracket as well.
Never again will I buy just off independent reviews again and get out there to try before I buy.
Just as a sub note, a few years ago I owned the original Canon 100-400mm L lens, the one lens I thought I would miss the most when switching brands to Pentax, well it's been a long wait but it looks like Pentax has delivered.

Hi, I am interested in getting a fast 50mm for some school portraits I have been asked to do soon, is this lens the better 50mm compared to the FA 50mm f1.4 that sold on here for the same price,
I know some 50mm are seen to be better then others, so I am aware some ask a premium, sorry if it sounds stupid but I don't know a lot about how the older lenses.

My thoughts are that if they priced it correctly in the first place, no matter what it looked like, it would of been a success, As I doubt any of the bottom of the pile Nikons or Canons could touch it for image quality and that's surely what it's all about, isn't it?

As a owner of a couple of Q's and a Blue and white K-01, I like to be the odd one out from time to time and that's maybe why I enjoy Pentax so much, but these cameras were bought very cheaply on the used market and I would of never payed what they were asking first time around and I guess I will do the same with the K-S1.

I don't think it's a bad camera, I think it just boils down to very poor marketing by Ricoh/Pentax and them not really understanding the market and current worldwide trends not just the Asian trends,
