My friend,
I am afraid that a lot of people here don't understand that Pentax cannot avoid the production of a FF Digital Body, at the same time that every other company will.
No 'my friend', there is one person here who doesn't seem to understand that Pentax are soon to release a digital version of their 645 body which will more than satisfy the need for a larger frame size for those who want/need it.

Take your head out of the sand, Pentax will produce only APS-C and 645 format digital cameras. They have no need to produce a camera with a format between the two which is not compatible with their lens production road map.

You could just get another coiled lead and make your extension lead from that with any suitable male/female connectors in the middle.

There is no better replacement than the 16-45mm DA in the current Pentax lineup and there's nothing similar AFAIK in the old lens series either. You'll have to look at third party options like Sigma or Tamron. My recommendation is that you save your pennies and/or sell some gear you don't need and wait until you can afford the 16-45mm DA.

PM me if you, or anybody here, would be interested in buying a damaged, but fully functional, 16-45mm lens that I have. It has a couple of chips/scratches on the front element but my tests show that the damage does not limit the use of the lens much. Have a look at the second photo on ebay item 270022921844. Although the item is shown as sold, the buyer never paid up so I still have it, but it's in Spain and I'll not be able to send it to you until after 23rd November when I go back from UK. If you are interested I can put the sample images back on the web.

Excellent. Well done. A new MZ-S has got to be a rarity. Seems a shame to take it out if its box

I think you'll have trouble finding a brand new one 3 years after the end of production. Maybe settle for a mint used example.

Ebay seller shphoto-gmbh from Germany had some a while back and I don't think they were sold. You might try and contact them. He has a used one for sale now.

Way to go Will. Go for it!

FWIW, I love your domain name.

I too have had little time to develop my photographic hobby/skills in recent years. I'm hoping that will all change now that I am semi-retired, and we get a lot more sunny days in Spain than UK.

Regards,

it's better than having no website at all.
Sorry to disagree but if you want to showcase your work and have visitors spend some time looking at your site and maybe commissioning you, it might have been better to wait and 'polish' it a bit first and populate it with more images. As it is, your site could well be turning people away to look at better prepared sites (not necessarily better images). If that is happening, no site is better than one that puts prospective customers off, or maybe just an 'under construction' page with contact details.

I looked at your site a couple of days ago Will and I have to agree with George. Too much Flash and not enough Photo for my liking, especially when some links have only one or two images.

If a web site is worth the trouble it's worth the trouble to do it well.

Buying/selling on ebay can be a minefield. As a general rule, beware of sellers with new ebay accounts and/or zero feedback selling expensive items.

If you bid on any item, a rogue seller can get all the information they need to offer you a 'second chance offer' for a non-existant product.

ALWAYS RESIST & IGNORE unsolicited offers. Remember what your parents taught you; "If it sounds too good to be true . . . it probably is".

That said, some months ago I bid on and won, from a seller with zero feedback who even had their first listing pulled by ebay because it looked dodgy, a *istD incl. all accessories + SMCP-FA 100mm Macro lens for £450.00. The seller delivered the item in person to my home and included 2 X 2Gb CF memory cards. I thought Christmas had come early.

The moral of this story is that ebay sellers have to start somewhere and if they are genuine and choose to sell expensive items as their first sale, bargains can be had. My son bought a SMCP-FA 80-320mm zoom lens from a zero feedback seller (with my guidance) and got it for £40, another bargain, the lens is spotless.

It's a bit like betting really, only risk what you can afford to lose to zero feedback rogues, or better still, do your research.

BTW, have a look here for some of my surplus photo gear on ebay. Amongst them is a nearly new D-BG1 Battery grip for the *istD and a beautiful SMCP-M 1:1.4 50mm lens. Go on, you know you want one . Perfectly genuine reason for sale . . . I want a K10D so these have to go.
