If you're handy with a soldering iron, snip the cable, and insert an extension with male and female plugs at the ends. Then you can use it short or long.

Just didn't really want to butcher my coiled lead - it's great when using the AF540-FGZ on a flash bracket. If I can get hold of compatible plugs, then I can make as many extension leads as I need

Matt,
I had a look around for compatible plugs, and couldn't find any. I have four 5P leads, two short coils, one long coil, and one long straight.
If all else fails, PM me, and I will sell you a short coil for butchery.

Does anyone know if the Pentax 5P connector is a standard connector of any sort? The reason for asking is that the standard coiled lead is far too short, and the 3m extension lead is rare & expensive.
If the K10D isn't going to support wireless P-TTL then I'm going to need a tethered solution for my two Pentax flashguns (or at least one tethered with the other being a wireless slave).
(I'm still trawling through all the component catalogues though...)
