Version 1.10 of the K10D firmware does not change the cameras inability to support TTL. It still can't do it.

You'll be able to use it in manual mode only. TTL is not supported on the K10D, only P-TTL capable guns (AF360FGZ & AF540FGZ) will give full compatibility.

Eeeerrrmmmm . . . here in Murcia we have had clear blue skies and 20 degree plus daytime temperatures . . . since Christmas. Zero rain, no breeze, let alone wind to speak of (sips Gin & Tonic on a sun drenched terrace) and . . it looks like being the same for a while yet. The heating doesn't even come on any more . . . .

Cheers guys (more factor 8 please),

Wireless flash works with the new update. I was brave/foolish (depending on your point of view) enough to load it on my K10D. I've been using it for a couple days. No problems . . . so far.

John, caution is essential with these kind of upgrades as many have mentioned here. I did my research, assessed the risks, and made my decision to load it.

My recommendation however, is to wait until the officially released version is available. My decision may not be agreeable to everybody (anybody) but, it was my decision, and I'm happy with that.

These enhancements produce two notable results:-

1:- An already fantastic camera is now vastly improved , and
2:- An out of date manual , and I haven't even read it all yet.

Enjoy,

I found another link to it on another thread. I've installed it and it works fine. I'm just testing the revised functions. Verdict so far - awesome. I'll download and install the released version if the filename and/or size changes in the meantime.

The link is still there . . . but the file has gone, or at least, I can't find it.

Good news indeed, but . . . there'll be a few unhappy bunnies who have shelled out for a second 360 or 540 to make wireless flash work.

I'm just wondering if they'll retro-fit any of the K10D software refinements into the rest of the range, the *istD especially. They did it with the DS when the DS2 was released. Then again, Pentax will want joe public to be replacing D's with K10D's.

Do we set the indicated focal length, or the effective focal length (FL) (indicated FL x 1.5)?

I have assumed that we set the lens's indicated FL, does anybody know for certain. The manual setting of 8 - 800mm is mentioned in the manual but it doesn't state whether or not to use the effective focal length.

Similarly, when using a teleconverter, say a 2x and a 400mm lens, does that also have to be factored in to the choice of setting? I'm guessing it does.
