This was one of the reasons behind my recent sell-off. Unfortunately, all the talk about K10D problems with M lenses has dampened enthusiasm for those.
I still can't make up my mind whether or not to sell my MZ-S and most of the A, F & FA lenses I have and just go for the new range of * zooms. I'll keep my three FA Limited's for now too.

I've just put a deposit on the 50-135 lens, when I meant to order the 16-50. It's not my day. Now to email Chris.
I'm sure Chris will be understanding.

The 300mm* and 60-250mm* are 1:4 lenses, not 1:1.4.
Good news though, could be an expensive year
Interestingly, there are 17-70mm and 55-300mm non * zooms planned too.

What she didn't know was that I had taken a few pics . . . . in the gents toilets. Take a few moments to titter . . . .
. . . to continue, my reason (perfectly innocent, honest) was that the designer of this gentleman's space very obviously had a wicked sense of humour. I should state at this point the their were NO OTHER 'USERS' in the loo's at this time.
My wife tells me, and no, I didn't visit the ladies, that similar images of young men were displayed in the their loo's too.
I just wish I'd had my 12-24mm DA with me. I used my 16045mm DA for these.
I think most of you will appreciate these pics. They are purely record shots, I didn't want to make it too obvious by setting up the tripod and I've used Adobe Lightroom to process them and get them on to the web.

Both lenses benefit from aspherical (AL) elements but the 16-45mm also employs extra low dispersion (ED) glass in some of its elements. Also, the 18-55mm has 6 iris blades compared to 8 in the 16-45mm DA.
The 18-55mm 'kit' lens is very good, the 16-45mm is superb. That isn't to say that better lens = better images, that part is down to you.

The camera takes a second exposure, pure black except for sensor noise. It then does some clever electronic wizardry to subtract the noise in the second image from that in the first. The result is as noise free an image as you'll get.
Long exposure = long sensor run time = heat = noise.

If it is physical protection that's a different matter and before you take the shot, remove it, as it will only ever compromise your image, not enhance it.
A simple reasoning would be, why pay several hundred pounds for a good quality lens having just about the best anti-everything coating ever made, then screw a piece of cheap glass over the front? No need, no point, don't do it.

I keep getting different answers. I was in another forum and was told the K100D and K10D have the same size sensor and that the K100 the K100D is probably better in low light due to its smaller, less noisy sensor and that the 10D crams 4 million more pixels into the same area of the chip, making them more crowded and more noisy.
I am really having a hard time deciding which camera to get. I will be shooting pictures of insides of condos. They are new construction and have low lighting. I don't want to use flash. I will be using for the internet (but in the future I plan on printing some pictures as I improve with the camera). I need a camera that will give me great sharpness (I will most likely shoot in RAW because I can edit in Photoshop). I live in Chicago so maybe the weather seals would be a good thing for me?
Whatever you have heard about sensor sizes, the K100D has a 6.1MP sensor, The K10D has a 10.2MP sensor. For your internal, no flash, building shots, the K10D would be my preference. It has a much higher dynamic range enabling the capture of much more detail than any other Pentax (and CanoNikon) DSLR.

No problems whatsoever other than they are blighted with the same problem any other Pentax supplier has . . . the veeeeerrrrryyyy slooooowww trickle of product from Pentax.
When I have the money, I'll be ordering my DA* lenses from www.srsmicrosystems.co.uk
