Does anybody know if these new SDM lenses will still work with the in-camera AF motor of the *istD, for instance?

The 16-45mm has a max aperture of f4 and a filter size of 67mm. The 16-50mm's max aperture is f2.8 so the filter size is almost certainly larger, maybe 72 or even 77mm.

The latter will also be a heavier lens (note the spelling Pete, no 'e' on the end of lens ) due in part to the higher volume of glass and the SDM focussing motor.

The 16-45mm DA is an excellent lens, the 16-50mm DA* will be even better I think, but it'll probably be 2 to 3 times the current price of a 16-45mm, if not more. The DA*'s will give you a totally weather/dust proof system if that is important to you.

Welcome to the forum Eric,

Personally, I would not be happy with a camera used for demo's because you never know how it has suffered.

You can buy a new K10D body for the same price from www.srsmicrosystems.com

Regards,

It doesn't seem to add any additional features, it's just a bug fix. Then again, they may not have listed all of the changes.

Have a look at http://www.mypentax.com/tak50_1_4.html for a blow by blow description of how to disassemble a 50mm Takumar.

Well it's been a beautiful clear blue sky here today and an equally clear night. No clouds as yet.

I think whichever monitor you end up with, as long as what you see on screen is what you see on paper (WYSOSIWYSOP) it'll be fine.

My choice is a Samsung (they do make decent monitors) 930MP LCD TV Monitor and Epson StylusPhoto R800 printer. Calibration is achieved with a Spyder 2 and WISOSIWISOP.

Petekd,

Please try and stop yourself from editing your original post. Just add a new one if you want to update us. The posts that follow your original one now have almost no connection with the now changed post.

Good luck with your move.
