No I haven't been to the shop as yet.

Their address is listed as

Marketwal
28 Tottenham Court Road
London
W1T 1BS
UK

But a Googling of that address returns PNR Audio Vision - maybe they are selling the K20D for that price? I might give PNR a call see what they know about the website.

Cheers

Day dreaming about upgrading to a K20D (after selling the missus!) I did a Google shopping search and found a website selling the K20D Body for £328.40!!!!!!

I went straight to the site and everything looks genuine - the store is based on Tottenham Court Rd and genuine UK phone numbers.

I tried calling to check stock - no reply or busy signal.

I did a search on the business name and discovered this on abountus.org

BEWARE!!! This company lists a fake address for it's contact details. It may be a "phishing" site for credit card details. "Marketwal is a customer focussed retailer of AV and IT products. Established in 2004, by enthusiasts, the company has established itself in the AV community through delivering exciting products having excellent value and providing total customer satisfaction. As a young and innovative company we continue to strive for new opportunities to develop the business of keeping “Customer Service” and “Total Satisfaction” at the forefront."

Needless to say I will not be trying to buy a K20D from this site!

Its always worth checking the credentials of any new website!!

The mystery is solved.

The lens has an I-S Mount used for a short while by Soligor only. There are a couple of I-S mounts available on e-bay for other cameras I will now begin a search for a PK I-S mount (or lens with mount on it)

Can anyone help here.

I used to use this lovely old Soligor 200mm f2.8 on my Nikon FA. The question I have concerns the removable mount. I would love to get a PK version of this mount so that I can then start using it on my K100D but I am unsure as to what it is.

My research so far suggests that Soligor were great users of the T4 mount, however, I remain unconvinced as this lens seems a little later than the T4 mount – this leaves the TX and again I understand that this mount was used by Vivitar only.

I took the lens to my local and wonderful camera shop (T&B Photographic, Romford) and the extremely helpful guys there were also unsure.

Here follows photographs...

I was just wondering if anyone out there has this lens or recognises the type of mount used.
The lens was a fave on my Nikon, as you can imagine, and I would love to resurrect it for my K100D.
I will be grateful for any information.

Thanks John,

I have read the AP review of the Tamron Vs Nikon and I must say how refreshing the review was, not just because it supported my leaning towards giving the Tamron a chance, but also because it didn’t entirely get hung up on what the detail was like in the tree in the far left top corner at a 100% crop from a 14MP shot.

This review is much more from a photographic point of view than a scientific one and to me that is more important.

Will the Tamron (Or the Sigma) help me create beautiful images – I believe it will. Will it be perfect – no and will I care? Not too much.

If I have any kind of brand loyalty it will be towards Tamron – not because they are the best but because from my film days too, they have constantly provided me with a series of lenses that have enabled me to capture images that have been pleasing to my eye. I would love a bag full of Pentax ltd’s but in the real world I can’t justify the expense.

I have a few weeks before I have the funds for the new lens and I am not 100% sure of what I will buy but more than likely it will be the Tammy for its flexibility, value for money and photographic (if not scientific) performance. Unfortunately it is becoming increasingly difficult to try before you buy and still get the internet pricing but I may be taking a couple of trips to Watford in the next few weeks...

I am going to buy either the Sigma or Tamron ultra wide lens. I am not considering the Pentax as I simply cannot afford it.

There is a lot written about the Sigma and it seems to have its own fan club. There is much less about the Tamron and I have heard some very positive things (such as the dpreview) and also some very negative.

Are there any Pentax users out there that have or have used this lens and what are your opinions of it.

Comparisons with the Sigma are also welcome.

I want a super-wide but don’t want to break the bank or buy a lemon!

Well thanks guys for all the help and kind comments. The Photobucket solution seems to be the easiest so I'll be off to upload some images to there right now!

and just for good measure heres another stab (this time resized to 800)
