Why are the saloons going in the opposite direction?
It's for safery reasons, as the saloons are right hand drive it keeps the driver away from the armco.
The saloons are actually going the 'right' way round, the F2 stock cars are going the 'wrong' way round. I think this stems from the very early days of stock car racing, again for safety reasons.

probably off the mark a bit with the focus, takes a bit of practice this panning ,dont give up
I don't know if it's me, the camera or the lens or a combination of all 3.
I also use a Samsung GX-10 and I get far sharper images from that.

Just a quick question, On my Samsung GX-10 when I move the on/off switch over to check the DOF there is an audible 'click' from inside the camera.
When I do the same on my K-7 in optical preview it is silent.
I was just wondering if the K-7's DOF preview is 'silent'.
Regards, Chris.

I've got a Pentax 55-300 lens but it didn't arrive in time for me to use it at the Northampton meeting.
Below is a photo taken at the same track with my Samsung GX-10 using a Sigma 70-300 ( the non APO version )

These are some of my first daylight shots taken at Northampton with my K-7 and Sigma 70-300 APO lens.
I'm not entirely convinced about the image quality and sharpness. I have compared them with shots taken with my Samsung GX-10 at same track and from the same place I always stand. Personally I think my GX-10 shots are sharper.
