I know what you mean about the focus. To be honest I'm pretty disappointed with the quality of the images I'm getting from my K-7.probably off the mark a bit with the focus, takes a bit of practice this panning ,dont give up
I don't know if it's me, the camera or the lens or a combination of all 3.
I also use a Samsung GX-10 and I get far sharper images from that.

Hi Barrie,Why are the saloons going in the opposite direction?
It's for safery reasons, as the saloons are right hand drive it keeps the driver away from the armco.
The saloons are actually going the 'right' way round, the F2 stock cars are going the 'wrong' way round. I think this stems from the very early days of stock car racing, again for safety reasons.

Thanks Chris. I thought it was odd when I when had my first visit to a local track (Barford)recently. I'm more used to a standard race track being either clock or anticlock wise, not both.
