Fall in The Rockies.
Posted in Your Photos
The trip, there and back, took about 9 hours or so. It was just a fabulous day, unforgettable. I shot about 150 images - I am so pleased with the results, and will be committing a selection to large prints and canvas!

Like the shots especially the use of the railway as a lead in line. Unusual to see photos on here using 40-40mm lens. I think its a good lensI agree, I do like the 20-40mm for both it's quality and WR.

Such a wonderful place, and I was lucky enough to be there at the right time for the autumn colours - they were incredible. These shots taken whilst travelling on The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railway, from Durango to Silverton. All taken with K3 and HD 20-40mm. by , on Flickr by , on Flickr by , on Flickr

I've just paid for a two week Caribbean cruise for our anniversary early December. So no K1 for me. I suppose i will have to slum it with my K3 :-) (Ten years ago for a similar trip it was a tiny sensored Minolta Bridge Camera)But.......... When it's time for you to buy a K1 - how can it be refused! Short term pain to secure longer term gain. 👍😄
Lightroom CC Photography Plan - Any deals available?
Posted in Leads to Deals
Hey Mike, The silly thing is that I watched The Camera Stores hands on review of the K70, and Chris Nicolls advertises this deal - but of course I didn't pay attention because I assumed it would be for Canadian subscribers only! Anyway, thanks for re-drawing my attention to it - I have now subscribed to Lightroom CC, and downloaded the whole suite of programmes. Once again, many thanks, Malcolm

My understanding is that you get more regular updates, cloud storage, and extra apps with the CC version over and above the stand alone. You also get Photoshop. I've looked at the options and have decided I want the cloud version, but don't want to miss a deal if there's one out there !

Sorry about the spelling of 'convertor' in the title, I don't seem to be able to change it.

Having recently sold my mint DA* 60-250 I can see no point in keeping this rear converter. I bought it last August (2015) and it has never been used. I only took it out of the box to check there was one in there, so obviously it is as new. Unfortunately I bought it before the sale (paid £289) so I am asking a very reasonable £220 delivered. In effect you are buying a brand new convertor.

Charlecote Stag

I thought the ray of light on the stag in the foreground helps to 'make' the image.

Using a monopod - SR on or off ?
Posted in Pentax Digital Camera Discussion
Well, that's sorted - definitely will use SR when I use my monopod - but I don't think it will be essential to take it to the US. If necessary, as David said, I could always buy an inexpensive tripod and leave it out there with my son and family! Thanks everyone for their input, it was much appreciated.
Using a monopod - SR on or off ?
Posted in Pentax Digital Camera Discussion
I'd go one step further and leave the monopod at home. I always find they wave about a bit from side to side or to and fro, plus they add another thing to carry. SR is so good that for travel I don't use a tripod or monopod. I do use a tripod for macro shots and for very long exposures. You've got me thinking now, John !
