Just finsihed shooting with the k5 today I found that the jepg files from K20D 4* setting that the image comes out larger in term of file size. The K5 Jepg engine seems to take away more details than the K20D.

Ok,

let me start a new topic here after reading the RAW vs JEPG.

After 2 days playing with K5 I do love the camera but I tend to think that the JEPG output from the K20D better than K5. Yes I do view photos at 100% and I pixel peep.

I will try to shoot RAW from now but still want to see if anyone else think the K20D JEPG is better just like I do.

Thanks

Prior to that, using a K20D, most of the time the JPEG output from that camera was superb so I didn't need to spend much time processing.

You too think the jepg from K20d is better than those from k5??

No more cashback, over £700 in the UK right now, better invest in lenses instead now.

I like number 1, I would shoot wider for number 6 but of coz I don;t know if there is something that you didn;t want it to be in the frame.

I had the same problem when I used to use K110D, and KM seems to have simalar problem, you fully charge a set 2500mah battery and it will only last for perhaps 100 shots, and if you buy cheap alkani batteries then no hope, it will not work at all, the camera will just tell you the batteries are dead even they are brand new.

By the way, I have a K10D for sale, can take about 500-600 shots with a single charge. would you be interested?

I shoot images like thislinkfor living and I really don;t have the time to shoot RAW and PP each image. That is why I normally shoot jpg and do very little PP. I sometimes need to process 200-400 images a day so I have average about 2 -3 mins to retouch a photo which inculdes softening skins and so on.

Anyway I have given up shooting higher than iso400 with the k5 now since many of my client do want prints up to 20x30 and I need to ensure the noise level is near non exsitant.

it seems now I have to get the iso 100 images from k5 look as good as those I got from my k20D, I guess I must play with the setting.

The battery grip does feel alot better than the k20d one, and the shutter does sound hell alot better.

OK now

Low ISO IQ. As I said I seems to prefer the jepg from K20D, I don't know if that is just me. I have uploaded 2 more photos to see what you guys opinion is like. They are not direct comparison.

somehow I can not really explain what it is better with the jepg engine with the K20d, please pay attention to the details on the wall. Again please view in full size or not no one will ever able to tell any different of course.

Yhanks
