You can still get tickets online, I just bought a last minute ticket for £5 for table tennis finals and power lifting final, as well as seeing Team GB playing sitting volleyball.

Most of the photo from this set were taken with DA* 50-135 2.8. the wide shots u seen were taken with sigma 10-20mm, I also have the sigma 17-50 2.8 with me, everything fit nicely with a small camera bag with the K5 body + battery grip.

Just remember to put everything inside your camera bag when you pass security. I seen a person being stopped by having a 5D MKII body with 70-200 F4 lens which is not big at all but he was having it round his neck. Once inside the venue I seen many 1D and 5D bodies with 70-200 F2.8 so it shouldn't be a problem.

I was going to hire a DA* 60-250 from SRS but they are asking for £70 to hire it for 3 days which is quit a lot considering it is only a F4 lens. So instead I brought my sigma 70-300 4-5.6 with me as well. but the sigma is hopelessly slow to focus and the IQ while shooting wide open is no good at all.

If you are bring a pentax body then it has to be a K5 since I ind myself shooting at least iso 1250 most of the time. You need a 2.8 lens. even f4 is too slow. you can push the iso to 3200 to use f4 lenses but then what is the point bring your camera in since the picture will be so bad that you don't want to keep.

So 50-135 is good but I wish I have a sigma or tamron 70-200 to go with instead.

Hi guys

I am planning to purchase the volleyball tickets in the Olympics. Although I am going to buy the best tickets but I understand that I will still be some distance away from the game play.

I think my current 50-135 won't give me enough reach, I am thinking to get a 60-250 F4 but it is so expensive and it is a F4.

The tamron 70-200 F2.8 is just £599 from SRS and the Sigma 70-200 2.8 is also £100 cheaper than the DA* 60-250.

What should I do? The game is on Saturday so I need to make my mind up very soon.

do you think F4 is fast enough for indoor action shot at iso 1600?

I am going to purchase ticket for table tennis category A which suppose to be with the best possible view. I also already have tickets for Equestrian but that is the cheapest ticket, maybe higher up but the subject is also a bit bigger.

I also consider getting tickets for Diving and Gymnastics.

Just want to know if the 60-250 lens is allowed to be in these events

I understand this topic might have been discuss before, however since I am about to purchase a few last minute ticket and I really want to take a few good snaps of the events.

The official rules says that cameras under 30cm is allowed, does that mean the camera lens with a focal length less than 300mm or does that mean the length including the camera body has to be under 30cm? I have a k5 and I am thinking to purchase a DA* 300mm f4 or a 60-250 f4 for the games. Will this is allowed?

Furthermore I wonder if mono pod is allowed?

I only had about an hour in the rain with the K10D before it stopped working. Luckily I left it to dry for about 2 weeks and it came alive again. But no I will not use my gear in wet condition again.

I still wouldn't use my camera in the rain after my k10D let in water 3 years ago. However the DA* 50-135mm was fine.
