Been away from this forum for a while now, I gave up waiting for the pentax Full Frame and purchased a Sony A7 back in January. I used to shoot with my trusted K5 & K3 everyday while I was a studio photographer however I decided I would like to become and photojournalist a year ago and I have switched to shooting A7 mainly and using K3 as my backup body.

After a year in working as a photojournalist covering protests around the world and the battlefield of eastern Ukraine. I was worrying about forgetting how to shoot in a studio environment. Had an opportunity to shoot in a studio today and picked up the K3 paired with Bowen studio lights and it just still feel right at home.

Would like to share a few shot and love to hear your comments.

Interesting set of photos. Are they used by the press or is just for your own consumption?

I do try to sell my pictures with a few different photo agencies but so far not much luck, perhaps that is due to the fact that the photo journalism industry is all about how quickly you can edit the photos and upload them. And I do not bring my laptop with me when I am out shooting, and by the time I get home to edit my images I already see other photographer's pictures are already being used by many different medias.

The Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 is great if you want to shoot in low light with a K3. I recently sold mine (I've bought an A7s, which gives cleaner results at ISO 6400 than my K3 did at ISO 200) but while I had the lens I was extremely impressed with it; it's as sharp wide-open at any focal length (albeit a fairly restricted range of focal lengths) as any of my other lenses at any aperture.

I think it very much depends on what lens you are using on your k200d, if you are using a F4 or slower lens than even the K3 cant really lock focus in low light as well.

I can't agree more, I hate to shoot anything above ISO400 but recently I am shooting more at night without any flash, I really wish my K-3 has the same or simalar high ISO performance as the Canon 5D mark3. I see other photographer shooting at ISO 6400 and the image is so clean can matches my K-3 ISO 800 or 1600.

Also pentax doesn't offer any super wide fast lenses which is a shame, canon and nikon users can choose to shoot with the tokina 11-16 f2.8 but for pentax we only have the sigma 10-20 f3.5

When I see others shooting with a 5d3 with the 16-35 f2.8 I always think that is time for me to jump ship. However switching switch to canon or nikon full frame is just costing far too much. And I am thinking to get a sony A7 as a 2nd body when I needed the full frame feel and high ISO performance while still shooting with pentax FA lenses.

Just upgraded to a K-3 from the original k-5

I would say the low light high ISO performance is just as good as the K5 and the AF speed is the same as the k5 but It seems to be more accurate.
