I am 6"3 tall so I do always find it very diffcult to shoot lower level espically when I have my backpack full of lenses and flashguns with me. I also carry tripod with me in late afternoon or at night.

I know some people perfer to bring a super zoom to travel in order to save weight but IMO if I am going to just bring a super zoom then I might will just use a compact camera.Using a DSLR while traveling is because you want the best image from your camera.

Having said that as because my backpack is often far too heavy (8KG) most of the time, I will it very very hard to get myself down lower in order to produce photos in an more interesting angle. When I take landscape shots then I will take my backpack off and take my time to compose, however with street photography I just don;t have the time to do it. Futhermore I don't want to risk my backpack being stolen while traveling if I leave it somwhere on the floor. I have lenses worth more than £3k in it at the end of the day.

Can you upload them somewhere so we can have a look? Was it difficult to take photos in North Korea? Did the guide try to stop you taking pictures of the local people?

You want to go sooner rather than later. They are slowly changing their system. To a more capitalism style. Then there will be no point to go.

There is another place I really want to go before things start to change which is North Korea. But sadly I don;t think I can point to camera anywhere I want there.

This time I am going to show you some of the pictures I took during my holiday in Havana in September 2010. I will try to add some simple comment about each photo if I can.

#1 1954 ford, Being used as tourist Taxi today. I took a short 15 minutes jounery on it and costed $10 CUC which is about £7.50. Not cheap for cuban standard. The average wage in cuba is £10 a month.

#3 Another type of tourist taxi call COCO TAXI which you can find everywhere is central Havana. They are cheaper than the one shown on picture 1 and 2 but still this is the for tourist only. How about the Local Taxi for Cuban people? All Cuban can travel for free. Just stop a ramdom car on the street and ask which direction the dirver is heading to and if you are heading to the same direction than the driver have to take you by law. In fact tourist can do this as well if your spainish is good enough.

#4 Children playing with a shooting game, Believe or not the target is US soilders. You win candy if you can hit the target. The price to entre the game is 0.5p!! not 5p but 0.5p

#6 The staircase in a typical Cuban building. Is not the best condition but somehow I like it. Remember cuban people do not have to pay rent for their housing. Everything is provider by the goverment.

#10 The is the coast facing north, just 60 miles away is Miami where millions of wealthier cubans settled during the revolution.

#11 Oh yes! Havana is hot, very hot. In fact I never seen anywhere had air conditioning despite the fact that it is always over 35c. The only place that you can enjoy air conditioning is your hotel where Cuban people are not allowed in. Well I didn't see locals walking around the lobby anyway.

#15 I was invited to go in one of the local families home. The family was so nice, they spoke very little english but they did try to explain to me how their life is really like.

#17. All the food are being rationed in Cuba. This is where the locaal come with their ration card to pick up the supply allowance. If you want to have more you can buy them from the same place with money. But there aren;t much you can buy with the £10 wage they have. Even if you have the money the only thing aviable in the store is salt, rice, surgar, bread, cigars and chocolate. Not much to choose from really. But the basic supply is keeping the nation going.

#18. You can also soend your money on hotdogs and sandwiches. They cost 8p each. I exchanged around £5 to their local money and I had something like £3.80 left over after a week.

Cuba is one one of the place that I will return and try to take more good photos. I just love this place. The people are nice, this place is old but beautiful. Cuba is a very poor nation on paper however I find it safer to walk down the road in central Havana than in Central London. They don;t have the drug addicts, no youth gangs. That tells me money is not the solution of everything.

£90 is a very good price. I love the bokeh from your lens.

No But the photos with the watches are my first time use a macro lens to be honest. Shutter speed 1/125 F11-f16. Yes I did use an tripod.
