I would go for the Super. besides the dust removal it has support for the new SDM lenses.

I am about to purchase my first DSLR and I need a bit of advice.
Do I go for the K100D or fork out the extra cash for the K100D super?
Any advice will be much appreciated.
The main advantage of the latter is its ability to use SDM. If you can't see yourself forking out for an SDM lens (and bear in mind that third-party lens makers may start to offer them, too), then buy the K100D if the price differential is worthwhile.I am about to purchase my first DSLR and I need a bit of advice.

The DA* smc 50-135mm is quite expensive (about £600) so I can't see me buying one of those for a long time. So is the dust removal worth the extra £60?

Yes, but in future many new Pentax lenses, and probably some third party lenses, will have SDM. Also, these lenses will become available second-hand. In two years time I suspect there will be a dozen lenses available with SDM, some of them at prices much lower than £600.00.The DA* smc 50-135mm is quite expensive (about £600) so I can't see me buying one of those for a long time. You were asking about what looks at first glance to be a purely web-based operation, and a box-shifter to boot.
With things that might go wrong, and be difficult to fix, I prefer to buy from a shop where I can go in and speak directly to the manager.

I think what George was trying too say is don't buy online but go into a reputable retail store where warranties are assured and you can view the item before you buy it. Sound advice if you ask me. Some of these online stores are nothing but fly by nighter's and a vast majority ship thier products from off shore. Making it difficult if not impossible to lodge warranty claims. Beware.
