I have K-3, K-1 and 7 lenses. I can confirm that no matter what lens I put on eather body, I can very slightly move the lens in rotational direction. This is more pronounced in case of say 70-200 because it's heavier.

I was so intrigued went to camera shop and picked up Fuji XT4 with a tiny lens attached on it. Despite the fact that it felt attached to the bayonet quite firmly, I could still feel a clutch/pin mechanism engaged every time I was rotating the lens left and right. I would put there 50-140 but they only had this one so I left this little coffee/camera shop with just an imaginations how heavier lens would feel on Fuji in this regard.

In general, most people or professional techie folks are saying yhat this is normal and could not be otherwise because the lens would have trouble locking or unlocking, or even worse, unlocking accidently, so there MUST be some space or how techie guys would say backlash.

Interesting point here already mentioned is whether or not it will affect weather resistance?? I think that it doesn't matter if the gasket moves a little bit rotationally unless it is properly sealed against the mounting surface. Anyway, would be great to see some proof.

yes David, I'm sure that all copies will have it and it's pretty normal. Image quality wise this lens continues to surprise me every time I use it. Pictures on every focal length are just so good I'm starting to compare it to pro level lenses that are million times pricier.

I can confirm somewhere 1mm wobble when fully extended. Have taken a lot of pictures with it, from 55 to 300 - all clear. I should be normal.

As far as I know, there were no issues with PLM. It is lot faster, almost instant focusing, but it cannot be used to drive large focusing elements like in SDM.

Well, what to say, would you buy it again? I mean, now I have a choice to return if, replace it or exchange it to something else. I can't see other WR portrait lens out there with similar IQ rather than 70-200. Did your lens behaved like that when you got it or it started to do so later?

David thanks for your replies, yes I got just couple of days before I make final decision. I really didn't know I would start thinking all over again. Well, your DA* 300 is prime, we both know that its focusing mechanism is less complicated and of course should be more accurate but we didn't signed to that kind of inaccuracy in 50-135 lens. I should ask you how old is your 50-135 and do you find similar backlash in focus ring as in my copy?

In terms of IQ, I absolutely agree it is just fantastic.

Thanks to god someone agrees that it's not me and it's a focusing system...
I forgot to mention that the guy at shop showed me one of his fast Canon glass, 1.8 as I remember and told me that he sees lenses with similar problem very often but excuse me it's not that fast, it's 2.8. I can accept some errors but not so huge differences.

Now, while my old lens is on its way to B&H I seriously think to exchange it to 70-200 but something is holding me, it's a whole different beast, big, heavy and costly....

David how do you think, is that a camera/lens combination problem or just lest itself?
