hmm, didn't see that one coming

but I was thinkig that the 50-135mm would do the job "in between" the 70 and 300 ?

Don't mind the traveling heavy part of the journey

I know it's a bit strange to compare these two lenses. But I'm going to Greenland i two weeks, and would like som nice sharp glass to bring along.

I can only afford one of them, so the problem is which one.

I'm a bit baffled because we're going whale watching and stuff, but I don't know how close we'll get to the whales.
The lenses I have, is.

Pentax 18-55mm (kit)
Tamron 28-70mm f.2.8
Pentax da* 300mm f.4

So should i buy the 16-50 to get more "sharp" photos in the close range (and better landscape with the 16mm), or should I buy the 50-135 to get a wider mm range ?

Hello

I'm looking for the sigma 100-300mm f.4, but how many different versions are there ?

Is there an APO and a non-APO ?
or is it only HSM/ non HSM ?

From the sigma homepage:
APO 100-300mm F4 EX DG HSM

And from ebay/sigma4less:

Sigma Zoom Telephoto 100-300mm f/4 EX APO IF
Sigma 100-300mm f4 EX APO IF HSM

Are we talking about different versions ?

-> Peter Elgar - Yes I have set the "Aperture Permitted" in the custom menu.

thx. guess I'll have to try and send it to tokina og smth like that.

Ok here goes.

Last fall I bought a Tokina 28-70 f2.6-2.8 lens used over ebay.

But it have never worked properly on my K10D.
When I turn on my Pentax, it asks for the focal length (like it thinks it's a manual lens)

The lens works fine until it hunts and the focus ring goes to infinity or 0.7 (the closest focus range). When it hits the camera stops sensing which aperture the lens is set to (even though it's set to A).

To get the Camera to sense which aperture the lans have, I have to switch it to manual, switch the lens to manual, turn the focus ring a bit, and the set it all to Automatic again. ???

I haven't had the chance to try the lens on another K10D.. So is there anyone who have any idea of what I can do ?

Beacuse I REALLY like this lens
