Thanks for the comments guys, did boost the saturation a bit to make the graffiti stand out, not sure if I've overdone it or not!

It's in Amarillo, Texas along Route 66. Wiki page.
It's only overdone if you think it is overdone. Remember, you are taking photos to please yourself, not everyone else - unless you are selling them or are taking photos fopr womeone else.

I like what you have done here, Peter. Beautiful use of narrow DOF and focus point.

I think I would agree with Mike in that it may be a tad central and could have the gate moved to the left a few mm, but that is just my opinion.

A couple of nice sample images, John.

I had the DA16-45 and it was an excellent lens, so if the DA17-70 can match it's performance, then it should be a winner.

It would be nice to get some 70mm shots and wide open shots as well.

I would love to know if the 17mm end is much different to the DA16-45 @ 16mm. From the lens test shown on this forums lens reviews, the DA*16-50 looks wider @16mm than the DA16-45 @16mm, see here:
https://www.pentaxuser.com/news/Pentax-1645mm-and-1650mm-compared-169
although this could just be a close focus thing and at the infinity focus mark they may be similar.

If the DA17-70 can match the DA16-45, then it would be a fatastic travel lens.

Absolutely beautiful! Great composition and perfect exposure of a lovely subject matter. Well worthy of PPG.

I have the DA*50-135 f2.8, the DA*60-250 f4 and the DA*300 f4. I will rarely use the DA*50-135 now that I have the DA*60-250 as it is just as good IQ wise and can be used wide open with impugnity. I may use the 50-135 for overseas travel for weight and room considerations, but otherwise it is out of my bag.

If you feel that you could do without the DA*50-135, then may be you could sell it off to fund both the DA*60-250 and the DA*300.

Buy it

NOW

Then if you don't like it, sell it in a couple of weeks at a profit.

Totally a win win situation!
LOL. I couldn't agree more!

[quote:3496ace15f="Prieni"]I got my 50th shot accepted for the PPG today. And I got an open ended contract at work. Not a bad day...
Buy a lottery ticket, as they say things come in 3's.

Taken with K20D and DA* 16-50 @ 39, A11, 1.5 s, ISO200. Fading daylight from the window and a bit of tungsten.
Beautifully done and a worthy entrant.

Congrats on 50 acceptances in PPG, Prieni.
