hummmm
Curious as to why you consider the Nikon better for speedy cars?
its more than 1in10 that you get a hit others say its the operator
[/quote]I'd be very worried if I couldn't get race cars at speed on my K3. Last time I shot rally cars was on my old Minolta 7D, which was only 5.5fps from memory, had no issues there, or with the JPS F1 cars on the Goodwood Hill climb. The K3 is a much faster and better camera. Interesting.

I went Friday and Saturday. The N@k#ns came on Friday as I wanted to capture speeding stuff and the K-3 and K-1 came yesterday so that I could get all the other stuff going on around the circuit. First outing for the K-1, I really enjoyed using it (attached to my FA*28-70) so it's off to Malvern tomorrow with the 15-30....K-3 refuses to die, really I might get better photos if I had the shake reduction turned on....
I did come across other Pentaxians amongs the Canikon hordes - one guy with I think a K5ii and the 18-135 exchanged glances and a nod, anyone on here?
If you've not gone I would thoroughly recommend it. Long way for those north of the M4, bad enough if you're within the M25.

That's not sensor size, they're all APS-C, you mean resolution. A lower sensor size would be M4/3rds or the Q.

" lower the sensor size". What do you mean by this.

I'm curious about the K3 II I, or I Is as they may call it. Does anyone think they will take a leaf out of Nikon book and lower the sensor size, like the 7500, which is fab.

I just tried the Pentax 1.7x on the 150-450mm.
Considering the grim dark weather which meant I had to shoot at a silly high ISO/1/500th/hand held ... the results were not that bad. That's nearly 800mm.
Of course you could always buy my 250-600mm f5.6 and 1.4x L converter.
I've been tempted by the 1. 7, but was unsure how well it would work on the 150-450. You have tested it for me, might have to invest.

Totally agree with Barrie, I would only use a 2x with any confidence on a 2.8 or faster lens (maybe f4 at a pinch).
The Sigma 1.4x Lenny has for sale would work well on the Sigma 300mm f2.8 (although I imagine the Pentax would as well).
