2 x Teleconverter - Any Experience?

Hi all. Does anyone have any experience using the Kenko 2x Teleconverter with any Pentax or Sigma lens, and if so, how badly does it affect AF?
I am always looking for a better long lens alternative to my 150 450 and 1.4TC, and have been considering trying one of these. I'm curious if it would work well with a Sigma 300 2.8 too.
Cheers, Kev

I'd steer clear. I have tried it with a number of lenses and found the AF very hit and miss, hunting all over the place. If you do get one in focus the IQ is still poor. That combination you have (150-450+1.4) is the best I've come across.

Totally agree with Barrie, I would only use a 2x with any confidence on a 2.8 or faster lens (maybe f4 at a pinch).

The Sigma 1.4x Lenny has for sale would work well on the Sigma 300mm f2.8 (although I imagine the Pentax would as well).

Yes, I have the Pentax 1.4. I wonder if I could stack them 😂

I just tried the Pentax 1.7x on the 150-450mm.

Considering the grim dark weather which meant I had to shoot at a silly high ISO/1/500th/hand held ... the results were not that bad. That's nearly 800mm.

Of course you could always buy my 250-600mm f5.6 and 1.4x L converter.

Do you happen to require a kidney???? Id happily harvest one for that lens. It's on my wish list, or the 600 f4. Never see either for sale.
I've been tempted by the 1. 7, but was unsure how well it would work on the 150-450. You have tested it for me, might have to invest.
