Really like all of these - "season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" in pictures, if not words. Lovely!

I agree with David here. No. 3 is excellent. I always find it hard to get the autumn colours correctly saturated - human vision makes a much better job of it!

Never been so far north, but images like these really bring home what you're missing if you don't go. A lovely, evocative, atmospheric set.

No. 1 for me too - great composition, even if a touch accidental!

Thank you, both - it's a great setting to take photos, of course, as many better photographers than me have shown over the years.

You're welcome, Stan. I'm sure there will come a time when I will be glad to have these images as reminders of more active days myself!

David, hi! And thanks for your suggestions. I have a comparatively light weight tripod that would behave as you suggest. I'm not sure walking companions would have the patience to hang around though! Probably quicker just to get down low if it's not too wet. I'll go back to the raw files and see what I can do about the white balance, though I must say that where we were there was very little bracken to be seen. Nevertheless, I was a bit disappointed with no. 7 in particular, where the colours don't seem quite right.
Trust you and yours are keeping well!

Regards,

Thanks for your kind comments, all. No. 5 is the ridge going up to the top of Pillar, seen from the top of Green Gable - a walk for another day!

Day 2 was so dull I didn't even take my Pentax, so it's skip to Day 3 which was thankfully much brighter. Same area, roughly, but this time approaching Great Gable and Haystacks from the top of Honister Pass. Still lots of cloud coming and going, though, with the Scafell massif (7 & 8 ) barely visible. The hardest thing, I always find, is to convey the scale of the landscape. Hope you find something you like!

Three days walking last weekend with a pal. Sunday was Haystacks from Gatesgarth Farm with heavy cloud cover, so I tried to avoid including lots of sky! K-3 and DA 18-135. Please feel free to suggest improvements!

I never tire of looking at your seascapes, Gareth. You may be lucky to live where you do, but there's no luck involved in producing consistently superb images. Keep on taking "quick half-hours"!
