Autumn in The Highlands

I spent last week in the Scottish Highlands - more than 1,000 miles of driving from Durham to the Far North West and back - with many breaks for photography.
The photos were taken on the K3 and K5, lenses used were DA*16-50, DA*50-135 and D FA*70-200.

A really good set David. Ardmair Bay is a stand out for me. Loch Assynt and Ullapool evening also work very well to illustrate the variety of the scenery.

Very nice collection. The standouts for me are 'Suilven from Elphin' and 'Ullapool Evening'; I love the rising smoke in the latter.

Another thumbs up from me as well. Great shots. I love the Suilven shot; its just a great shape of a mountain and you have caught it well IMO.

Lovely set David, I envy you greatly! Wish I could find some time to do a trip like this! I'm off to the Lakes tomorrow, but will have my other half with me, so not a photography trip. Suilven and Ardmair Bay catch my eye, I would be tempted to clone out the pole in the Suilven image?

Thanks everyone for your comments. I love the Scottish hills, in particular those in the far north some of which have amazing shapes.

My wife was with me on this trip and she got a bit impatient when I spent so much time taking pictures. As for the pole in the Suilven image? I thought about cloning it out but deliberately left it in because its part of the power line system to these remote areas. I did take out the cables it was supporting though.

Never been so far north, but images like these really bring home what you're missing if you don't go. A lovely, evocative, atmospheric set.
