As far as portraits go, your Whitby ones are always unbeatable!

Good to see a photo in your name again, Gareth, and, as always, a "good un"!

While a broader view can be incredibly colourful, I really like close-ups which bring out more detail. What do you think? A few more from the same visit to RHS Harlow Carr.

While Hardcastle Crags have a natural attraction, autumn at Harlow Carr (or, I suppose, any man-made garden) has a more manufactured appeal. I could have spent a lot longer wandering round! First, a broader view. K1 + FA 28-105mm. Hope these appeal!

Thank you, both!
David, I don't need to tell someone with your skill and experience, but yes, it was a matter of balancing everything - ISO, shutter speed, focal length angle of view etc - and making sure the burnt-out skies/reflected water were kept to a minimum. And it didn't work first-time all the time by any means!

Autumn colours seem to have appeared very quickly this year (and are almost gone already, judging from the the quantity of leaves on the ground!) Managed a couple of outings very recently - this set is taken at Hardcastle Crags, a favourite spot not too far away. All taken with K70 + DA 18-135. As usual, all comments welcome!

Superb!

Obvious once the answer is revealed! But needing a good eye and a lot of skill to achieve the effect. (And thanks for your "little reminder" from one who does tend to be obsessive about sharpness!)
