Out and About #4 - Canary Wharf in Colour

The next instalment in my very occasional series of being out and about.

I get to travel with work and when there is some spare time, I take the opportunity to wander around with the camera to explore the area.

Much of my work involves being at Canary Wharf. This glass and steel bubble in the former docklands area of East London provides many photographic opportunities. The neighbouring areas of Limehouse, Shadwell and Wapping are also worth exploring.

Pity you don't do this more often. These are wonderful shots, especially 2 and 4 - and, once again, the K5 is shown off for the wizard machine it is!

My job involves me spending a fair bit of time in and around Canary Wharf. Whilst the Wharf can seem somewhat sterile, lacking in soul so to speak, there are plenty of photographic opportunities in different lighting conditions. Where possible after work, I try to spend sometime with the camera seeking views that I do not have time to appreciate during working hours.

I think it's fair to say that most of us spend a very short time evaluating someone else's photographs and we come up with like/dislike/indifferent almost immediately.

The first image I liked straight away, no.s 2, 3 and 4 all drew me in and I spent a lot more time evaluating and appreciating them - original, considered, composed and intriguing - a top class set even edging your monochrome set.

As with David, 2 & 4 really appeal to me and for entirely different reasons.
I love the lines and regular shapes in 2, set against the curves.
But there is something about the randomness in 4 which makes me want to look for the regularity which I know isn't there.

Thank you for the comments. It's not often that I get to see something unusual and capture it as I envisioned it. I'm glad you like these too.

P.S. Don't look too hard at no. 4 - it is just one of those wierd moments that didn't make sense at the time but I liked it anyway!
