Never been away Mike, just didn't have a Pentax anymore so I didn't think I had much to contribute but things change eh?
Always liked the 20-40, fills the gap between a wide and a tele well enough and it's just pretty!
Bit shocked as to just how much the prices of the "exotica" have risen but it is what it is...

From a great review site that does not get the kudos it deserves...
Oh and hi by the way!

Time to use a tripod ... a very valuable thing Peter! We should all follow this advice more, especially for static scenes where it will help to get the most out of our equipment. Great colour in the sky here (considering no filter? ...)

The blue saturation has bled onto the buildings in No1 it seems (I mean the grey/ silver parts).... I'd try masking off the buildings before applying any added saturation, or even reducing the blue channel on the buildings only ... I think this will look better.
Tripods are one of the most underestimated things in photography, I've lost count of the amount of piccies I've taken that would have been improved if only I'd bothered to use mine!

Maybe I just need more time to get used to it, I'm probably just not in the right frame of mind tbh.

Forgot to add that when we got back we found that our son had switched off the fridge and freezer just before we left so arrived home to a bad smell, water all over the kitchen floor and rather a lot of spoiled food.
Nowt wrong with any of them Mike but you know the future is mirrorless don't you?
K1 is a good tool no doubt though, it's more than the sum of it's parts just gets the job done, gotta love camera's like that, a classic!
Bad luck with the fridge mate, you just don't need it...

The 20-40 arrived this morning Jules.

Thanks very much for a fast, easy, transaction.

The lens is in superb condition, but given you seem to change your gear every few days that's hardly surprising!

Was it ever used?

I've been a lot better of late, I'll have you know!
I bought the KP knowing I'd want the K1, then I picked one up... Sigh...
If they bring out a K3 MKIII I'll be on that un like a shot as well!
TBH the image quality on the KP is just superb, and quite good enough for anything really, so expect a K1 up for sale in about six months when I buy a K3 MKIII
Here's hoping...
