K-1 in Cornwall

Due to a slight problem while boarding the plane last week we ended up in a mobile home in Cornwall for a week rather than Spain for 18 days. Ever being the optimist I took the K-1 along with a couple of lenses hoping for sunshine but arrived to pouring rain and 60mph winds thanks to Hurricane Brian. Anyway, inbetween worrying about being swept away by torrents of water or being blown over the edge of a cliff at the caravan park I managed a few shots ... even had one reasonable day

Nothing special but quite pleased with how the K-1 performed. Still not sure it's for me though.

Particularly like # 4.

What don't you like about the K-1?

It seems to be very much a landscapers camera and I'm not really into landscape.

That and the fact I bought a screen protector for it and totally ballsed up the fitting so now I'm going to have to order another.

should have gone down the road a bit more and had a rattler or 2 that will make the k1 more faverable

Maybe I just need more time to get used to it, I'm probably just not in the right frame of mind tbh.

Forgot to add that when we got back we found that our son had switched off the fridge and freezer just before we left so arrived home to a bad smell, water all over the kitchen floor and rather a lot of spoiled food.

Nowt wrong with any of them Mike but you know the future is mirrorless don't you?
K1 is a good tool no doubt though, it's more than the sum of it's parts just gets the job done, gotta love camera's like that, a classic!
Bad luck with the fridge mate, you just don't need it...

Maybe you could do plug into an unswitched socket - or even fit an unswitched cord outlet and wire it into that as then the fridge will never go off unless the mains system RCD trips or the supply to the house fails, as the latter is what I did.
K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

What's wrong with a sticker above the plug saying "DO NOT SWITCH OFF"?

I don't know how Mike's son's brain works, but I would suspect that reading, understanding and then following written instructions like those may not be one of its most reliable aspects (read what Mike said in one of his earlier posts).
