To be brutally honest, within reason I couldn't care less what they look like ... white/black/grey/red ring/green ring/gold ring ... none of that makes any difference at all to me.
All I am interested in is IQ @ 450mm f5.6.

From DPReview article: "As well as full weather-sealing, both of these new full-frame zooms offer extremely an exceptionally high standard of build. Both lenses will be available in March, with the HD Pentax-D FA * 70-200mm F2.8ED DC AW selling for $2299.95 and the HD Pentax-D FA 150-450mm F4.5-5.6ED DC AW at $2499.95."
More Piccies and a good overview...

it would seem the SMC lens will be sold only in kits and the HD version will be available on it's own...

I sort of gave in and ordered the Sigma 150-600mm OS sport for my 7D off Amazon.
Saying that it's a 1-3 month wait so I'm hoping the Pentax lens is so good that I will do a U turn.

Interesting for the rumour mungers amongst us that the K50 is still on the "Colour Wall" along with the K-S1/K-S2...

I see Sigma have stopped production of their 150-600mm contemporary version in Sony A mount before even starting it.
Then I woke up!
I would have liked to have seen that one in K mount even if not the Sports version, It's a real shame...
Tamron and Sigma seem to be putting all their efforts into two big baskets...
I hope the 150-450 is as good as Sony's 70-400, which is the best something to 400 I have ever used, and I've tried all but one I think?
