Have a look around the site above for an idea of prices etc.
This is the manufacturers website, they are really helpful and a top notch bunch of people...

No I don't work for them, it's just a good product at a fair price...

I have the current Tammy macro, so I might be swimming against the tide a bit here. I can't compare it with the Pentax macro, never having used it.
In its own right though, the Tamron is a very good lens, and is well built. In Melbourne, it was substantially cheaper than the Pentax equivalent, so it made for a very easy choice.
I find MF with it easy and accurate, on account of its long throw. The DoF is so fine at short distances that MF is the only way to go, unless your subject is flat and exactly perpendicular to your lens.
Most reviews rate both the Pentax and Tamron highly FWIW, with both having their respective strengths.

yes I have now tried the Lens and it's beautifully made! The focus ring is damped just like a Ltd,Quickshift is not quite a substitute for a focus limiter I know. I've decided to have another look at the Tamron again because technically it ticks all the boxes along with the old FA which I believe has a limiter too?
The only concern with the Tammy I see is having to operate the focus clutch as well as the focus lever to achieve MF, at least thats my understanding of it, I have a very kind offer for a tamron and need to decide quickly so I don't nark a forum member by my indecision...

I just think the Ltd lenses are just too small to make it viable (Arthritic sausage fingers!)for me anyway regardless of whether they go down to a 49mm thread or not, so far the only disadvantage I have found since moving from Nikon to Pentax...

Think I'll buy one this week and hopefully give it a run out in the Lakes with the K7 next weekend.
Again thanks for the info

I would greatly appreciate someone who has one giving the once over with the old ruler to see how deep they are...

I have both of those, they are the two I'm wondering about actually.
The filter itself does not look too deep but is deeper than a Pro 1,
anyone any experience of these:

Tastless Humour aside though for a minute, I believe these are quite new?
So as a shot in the dark -1 2/3 stops Dark
Do they work ok on Limiteds? Vignetting wise?
Most of my lenses are 49mm thread so one of these should go down nicely for the old Landscaping...

If it doesn't work you'll all be the first to know!
They also do ordinary adaptor rings which may work as an alternative...

Someone has to be the guinea pig here
