Thanks for all your work Hefty...I can see that you really loved the Macro shots of the cars.

As Usual I had a lot of fun with my photo shoot. I could have made the crop tighter...but so much is all about personal taste. I was very pleased with the out come of my photo..but most of all I learned some new tricks when taking things a ground level.
Hyram was among my favorite...Loved that 911...it was the kind of picture you just kept wanting to look and look at! Cool

Thanks for all the work Thoughton

No grey blanket...no coals either...Did you read my comment in the discussion thread....I really did burn,"just leaves"...they burn very fast...so all I could do was snap, snap, snap...click, click click. Then pile on another arm full of leaves and go back at it with the camera!
The grey in the picture is just smoke...I took some with and without the flash...and Hey Tim...I built the fire just for you too! I thought I got lucky when I saw Guy walking around in my fire...had to give it to you.

I enjoy all the competitions...I treat each one as my weekly and bi-weekly assignments. You all are my photograph instuctors and I still remain the humble pupil!

Congrats to all the winners!!!

My preference would be for less intrusive framing, possibly with less fancy lettering in a colour that contrasted less with the rest of the frame.

A different framing attemped

I pretty much agree with everything ChrisA has to say but I wish everyone would leave the EXIF data intact and then we might have more informed conversations.
Yes I forgot about that....you see when you paste your picture else where then you lose the ability to open properties....so I will now inclued it all by hand:

Pentak K-m
Focal L.....80.0mm
Exposure....011..1/90
Aperture....f/8.0
Meter Mode...Matrix

Hello....
Thank you all for the comment and the advice.

To be picky, a slightly smaller aperture would have given you the DOF to get the head as sharp as the body, but this is very marginal.
A smaller aperture...would have given me a shaper picture from head to tail???

you might have lost some of the lovely quality of the b/g with a smaller aperture. Just a slight shame about the burnt out areas, though you get away with this with the focus on the bird.
Sorry Doc, not sure what b/g was....could it be explained a bit more about the aperture...how it works and how i control it when I am in a set up like this!

Thanks a million.
