For anyone who is happy to order from Amazon Spain, the silver version of this lens is currently about £100 cheaper than SRS (currency conversion from www.xe.com) taking into account SRS's 10% discount. Currently four in stock.

There's certainly no denying you've got the eye for an interesting composition

I'm pretty sure they hiked the KP price up by 100 though, so it's only really a discount of 200.

AN HDR image is only good if it's not visibly an HDR image.

You can always get the results you want by taking the shots manually and then combining them in software afterwards.

The smaller the camera, the less comfortable it is to use with big lenses, but they work superbly with smaller lenses. For bigger glass a well designed grip attachment is in order, but I'm not sure many offer this option.

Mirrorless needn't be "me too" - none of the existing FF options is perfect (or even close), so there's still opportunity to design one that works as well as a good DSLR. The smaller formats - m4/3, Fujifilm (not Sony though) - are better thought out systems so I think there's less scope for success in a new smaller-than-FF mirrorless system. Neither is for Pentax though as they'd probably take about 20 years to complete a half decent lens lineup.

Maybe a poor algorithm to downsize the images to 640x480. If you really need that size, try shrinking them in a program on a computer or mobile instead.

Yes, it's annoying but presumably part of the separation from Yahoo and necessary. They did announce it well in advance though.

Also as a recent subscriber to the Pro service, I have been receiving some help from the Flickr team with some problems logging in and changing passwords and have to say the service is very good.

Pentax are already spread far too thinly to properly focus on any of the formats they make, APS-C in particular has suffered in the years since the K-1 came out. They should stick to DSLRs, bring out a new flagship APS-C model, update all the limited primes (DA & FA) and the DA* lenses. Becoming another player in the crowded mirrorless market will only lose them money.

As a user of both DSLRs (Pentax K-3) and mirrorless (Fujifilm X-M1, X-T20) I can see that both systems have clear advantages but mirrorless is much better in certain things, especially:

- Manually focusing lenses (old Pentax manual lenses are easier to use on a Fujifilm body than they are on a Pentax DSLR)
- Much more accurate focusing
- Much more accurate exposure
- Much more accurate white balance

People go on about the size and weight but for me the real advantages of mirrorless are those above, and they come from using the main sensor for all those things. In addition, Fujifilm in particular have the best jpegs around, which leads to a huge reduction in time needed to post process images (it's often not needed at all).

Having said that, I still love using my K-3 and lenses. More than anything, it's the lovely DA limited lenses that keep me using Pentax.

I got an MV1 not long ago and shot a roll in it - it was a lovely camera to use. Unfortunately, without warning the ISO ring just came apart before I could get any more use out of it. I haven't checked yet if it's repairable.

The M series cameras, except the MX, are very nice to use but reliability is not their forté. The most popular M camera, the ME Super, is hard to find in fully working condition. The MX on the other hand is much better built.

I think my biggest bargain for a Pentax camera was my second MX which I picked up with an M 50mm f/1.4 for the total price of €19. After selling off the lens (I already have a copy) that works out as -€66 for the camera
