ICE is very good. I've run into problems where one object is much closer to the camera than the background is, because the perspective changes across shots, but that's not the software's fault.

Hi all,

I'm considering an ND filter for long exposures during daytime, so 9 stops or more. It has to be 49mm to fit my DA Ltd lenses. The only one I see that gets good reviews on Amazon is this one, but there are reports that you can't wipe it clean because it can damage the coatings, which is worrying. SRS has the same one for a bit more money.

Can anyone recommend any others? There's no point in getting cheap rubbish so I'm looking for a good quality one.

Many thanks

Sigma's small print (and Tamron's) surely include this info as I've read it many times. It's possible that Pentax will fix it in firmware but they're certainly not obliged to. I believe there's a similar problem with Nikon's new D5300 and I know it's affected a lot of Sony cameras before, so it's by no means unique to Pentax cameras.

I'd say the best bet is to contact Sigma and ask if they're aware of the issue and/or taking any action. It's in everyone's interest that compatibility is maintained.

Maybe the previous price of 4000 was from the same people who, on Amazon, are selling the FA 77 ltd for 1600.

I have one of the original mark I 560s and am very happy with it. I don't think Yongnuo make any PTTL models though, for Pentax it's full manual.

The flash is very solid indeed and recycles fast, though mine doesn't work with Lithium AAs for some reason (though that's not a problem, I usually use Eneloops).

Old Pentax flashes will work in manual mode (I have a couple of AF200Ts) but won't work in any auto mode except on the oldest DSLRs. They tend to be less powerful than newer models and most of them don't tilt or swivel. They're the cheapest option but to be honest I'd only use them off camera with radio triggers.
