Hi,

I might have a good opportunity to get a Fuji X-mount camera (the X-M1) to use with my manual K and M42 mount lenses. Does anyone have any feedback on this combination, especially focusing peaking?

Many thanks

you must look dodgie lol
Ha ha, that's beside the point - Madrid to LA to San Francisco to Seattle to Heathrow to Madrid. Five stops, five x-rays.

I'm glad to see taking a selfie on the edge of the crater of an erupting volcano is not listed there, must be safe then.

So I'll continue with my plan.

K3ii review:

There are some positive comments about the K3ii in this text, although it is never throrough enough to be termed a "review". What really puts me off is remarks like this one:

"It is more primitive than the current Nikon and Canon cameras, whose color and tone are also fantastic. If you're already invested in Pentax, by all means get one, but if this is a first DSLR, the Nikon D7100 or D7200 is worlds better in actual use, as are the similar Canon DSLRs like the 70D."
I'm sure the Canon DSLRs have great tone and colour around the many blown highlights resulting from their very poor dynamic range from their very poor Canon sensors. That's while it lasts before it falls apart in your hand due to the Fisher Price build quality. As for Nikon, good sensors but let me know when they design an APS-C camera for photographers rather than people who just want a big P&S.

I really think the removal of a flash to use for fill is a huge mistake. I wouldn't touch a K3 II if the original was still available.

I always recommend the Tamron 17-50 as the best upgrade around. It's not WR but it has great image quality, is compact and decently built. A vast improvement over any of the kit lenses or super-zooms available.

One caveat - try before you buy. Mine worked great from the word go but a lot of people report front or back focusing so it's a good idea to make sure your copy is good before you pay.

One left. Looks like the WR version.

As a job lot they'll fetch less. The DL, MX and Spotmatic might fetch a bit (maybe 50 quid each if in good working order) but the others are less sought-after and not worth much.

Here is a good place to sell but anywhere you'd really need to provide at least one photo of each and at least a basic description of the condition.

The K3 can copy from one SD card to the other by folder, so it's easy to copy it all at the end of the day (saves deleting non-keepers twice). A wi-fi enabled card (such as the Toshiba Flash Air) would also be able to send it to an Android device and upload to a choice of cloud services, assuming you have a wifi or other data connection.

I envy you the trip - it must be a great experience. Have fun!
