It means the seller is very dodgy Pentax don't use any checks to see if the battery is genuine or not. Plus the photo shows 1900mAh and the listing shows 2800 mAh Which is correct?
DSTE have a very good name and you can deal with them direct.....
£12.99 for battery and a very good charger.

I don't know about the rating but there is no copy protection 'decoded' for Pentax. My wife's bridge camera from Panasonic on the other hand is 'coded' and pattern batteries in general won't work with it due to the clever crcuitry they've included to make pattern purchase a problem. my pattern battery (also DTSE) is labelled 2000 MAhour and after four years of uses still works as well as the Pentax labelled one.

[quote:3496ace15f="Jonathan-Mac"]I found these third-party batteries which claim to be 2800mAh, a 60% increase on the standard ones. I have a couple of third-party batteries for use in my K3 and they don't last as long as the original battery but they work well and are far better value than replacement genuine Pentax ones.
These ones state they're "decoded" but I have no idea what that means. The photos show 1900mAh despite the 2800mAh claims.
Anybody have any ideas or experience with these?

Look like the 3rd party batteries I use.
always worked fine. you can't go wrong for £9.50 for 2. especially as the same thing with Pentax printed on the front is nearly £60 each.

Yes, it looks like the two I already have. I have no need to buy more at the moment, I just wondered what these "decoded" ones were.
