Can't agree with you on not needing to purchase it. I personally think the manual sucks and if it wasn't for people here and other fora I would be up the creek so, another reference point is always welcome.

Thank you for your message. The ISB you quote refers to a photographic
title Pentax *istD and *istDS. This is not due for publication until
Spring 2007.
Please check the website for further information nearer the time.

Don't know if it is affected but how up-to-date is the istD firmware - I think they're up to V1.2
