I'm wondering whether I've missed something in the setup.

I've been doing some action shots with the istD and realise that the continuous speed seems to be slow - any comments. It shoots the 5 shots as per the manual but these don't seem to be as rapid as I would like.

Thanks

Hi everyone,

Just joinded and though I would introduce myself. I am Jaycee and currently live in Canada but will be relocating to Malta in late September. I currently use the istD and a Pentax fan since the Spotmatic II and the ME - I refuse to really move away from the Pentax.

You have what seems to be a friendly and informative forum and wanted to say thanks.

I hesitate to critique so as not to offend but this is how I learnt and keep on learning.

The DoF is good but I think there should be more contrast. As a portrait, IMO, it should show more of the face.

My question to you is: What was the point of the image? What were you attempting to show the viewer.

Thanks for what I hope were your "tongue-in-cheek" explanations. I grew up with the SPII and the ME so at least I knew what manual-focus is.

But, you did force me to look at the camera again and guess what? I FOUND the Manual Focus setting and that I could actually manual focus. The istD is my first DSLR and it's been a long learning curve.

Well, we all live and learn as the saying goes.

I guess it wasn't just me thinking I was going crazy. Thanks for asking the question - I've learnt someting. I must admit I haven't found the right time to read the manual.

Question: Many people talk about the manual focusing on the istD - is there such a thing? I set the camera on M but that doesn't seem to affect the focusing. Am I just too thick-skinned?

Thanks
Jaycee

Don't be so harsh Peter - compared to others, yours ain't so bad. Just a little Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and deciding on colour scheme and you have yourselves a good looking site.

Heck, you can purchase a template and have the site propogated in no time.

Thanks for posting Joshua, you're quite an outdoors-person.

I've been to your site as well and you host some excellent shots - they have quite a punch.

Hi guys,

This might me old hat but...

I would like to get a Twin or Ring macro flash for a reversed 50mm but I'm a little confused on two things.

1. How would one attach the ring
2. Would one made for other than Pentax work.

Can anyone recommend places to purchase in London Heathrow or maybe, if i get time to go into London.

Thanks
