How carefull should one be in using a dSLR in the rain? Should there be any precautions.

I used to use SLRs in the rain without having to worry - was I jusk lucky?

Thanks

I'd go after Pentax - but that's me.

Thanks for your comments. My album is less cluttered because I host my own = no advertising. Which means people get down to see what they came for to start with.

Some nice shots Jason. I do a lot of auto photography (www.classic-rods.com) but never did any races. They can't be easy shots because the subject is so fast. I notice that you did try some panning which usually result in the best shots. Thanks for sharing.

Give Track and Field a try, cycling, etc in continuous mode. Miliseconds counts.

Some shots of what I mean can be found in the PanAm Album at www.jointcomms.com/thegallery

You didn't say, what speed are the cards you bought at that price?

Hi Jason, it could be a good price depending on the speed. Lots of CF cards out there but the speed is important. And that's where the retailers are getting away with murder.

Let the consumer beware.

Thanks Linus. There might be others interested because I did win an Ebay auction. It was a lot tougher to convert for the istD - filing was NOT that easy.

Thanks again

Thanks Matt. I saw the zigview and it looks excellent but not affordable at this time. I'll probable add it to my toybox at a later time.

Meanwhile, I've finally won a ebay auction. I guess patience does pay SOMETIMES.

Thanks for responding.

I've done a search and it looks like no one ever brought this up before.

I'm looking for a right angle viewer for the istD or K series. Does anyone know of a good source not charging the Pentax suggested retail price?

Thanks

Thanks guys - appreciate you taking the time to respond.

I read something recently which really mixed me up in regards to ISO/ASA. I thought they were the same so what I read really threw me off. Thanks for confirming.

Matt, thanks for that suggestion - neat - I'll have to try it out.

Is there a way to get the istD to ISO settings lower than 200. What are the equivelant ASA ratings?

Thanks
Jaycee
