I'm wondering whether I've missed something in the setup.

I've been doing some action shots with the istD and realise that the continuous speed seems to be slow - any comments. It shoots the 5 shots as per the manual but these don't seem to be as rapid as I would like.

Thanks

I'm afraid that fast continuous shooting is not the *ist D's forte. It has a relatively slow processor, and a small buffer.

Using JPG rather than RAW will help considerably, as will lower quality and smaller picture size. A faster card might also help, though in practice I haven't noticed card speed to make much difference.

A Lexar Write Accelerated card certanly makes a difference on my D, it's the fastest card I have and it makes a big difference in continuous mode.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. I thought I was missing something, but I guess NOT.

I am using the Lexar WA 80x - imagine if I was using some other.

Thanks again.
