Odd one this. Nothing Pentax I'm afraid, but plenty of photo gear including tripods, some bags, etc.

Is this the sort of thing you mean? If so, you can't really go wrong with Samsung.
Samsung? or SanDisk?

I would expect to pay no more than 66% of the new price for a second-hand lens, less if it's more than a year or so old and still available in shops, the caveat being rare glass which finds it's own price level.

I use a Summit Photofix copier. Ok, I know it's not as quick as a viewer, but it saves double handling.

I load the slides (only three at a time/slide carrier) then quickly scan them - around 5 secs per slide, before reviewing in Photoshop. Those I don't want to keep go in the bin and the corresponding file is deleted.

The reason I do this is simply because I've found that the slide viewer just doesnt have the inherent quality to allow me to 'vet' the slide properly, and although this might seem a longer process overall I find there is a time saving through only handling the slides once.

Hi John,
Did the safari thing on our last trip - this time it's golf and landscapes!
Last trip

Well, since you like PP, perhaps a nice stitched panorama or two to share with us and make me even more when you get back?

Welcome to the Forum.

Re South Africa, if you're going to do any safari trips, and expect to shoot from a vehicle, check with the operator as to what camera steadying options there are fitted to/in the vehicle, especially if you intend using a long lens.

You might need to add a monopod and/or bean bags to your tripod.

Rice is also good for drawing out moisture.
