As felix wrote, would help if you could give a full description of what happens when you try to use the camera, plus, when did it last work ok, and have you changed anything - type of batteries, lens, etc. Can't imagine a lens change would cause a problem, but...

Google doesn't know him, does anyone here?

We think he's an English actor, might be satirical comic, but from a few years back

Bernard

Re the lack of EVF, I was looking recently to buy a small 'slave' monitor for use with my PC. Found a number available, several of which would also work with DSLR's.

So, how about looking at the K-01 as a tool to be used either (a) tethered to a laptop, or (b) using an auxiliary screen? Ok, not great handheld (although rigs would be available for this), but seems to me perfect (with a tripod) for studio, landscapes, architecture...

Also, it's just a box containing electronics and hardware. How easy is it to make another box to take the same electronics and hardware, with an extended 'pentaprism' to take an EVF? Very

40% thicker and 20% heavier than the Fuji. It makes me wonder what it has over the Fuji? The same kind of questions I was asking when comparing the D7K and the K-5. What can the D7K have more that adds all that extra bulk.
The K-mount, and thus sweating your Pentax lens investment!

Mine rotates fine. If it's stiff enough to unscrew the filter it might be worth changing for another one. Or turn it the other way!
Can you operate yours easily with one hand?
Yes. I've just tried again and it turns easily with one hand. It's not loose by any means, but turns smoothly in either direction with no resistance at any point.

7 day shop have a no quibble return inside 30 days and I can't believe they wouldn't change it outside this timescale, especially if you mentioned you have been discussing it on a camera forum
Been in touch; they're happy enough to change it. Just need to find receipt!

Also bought the varible ND from 7dayshop. Haven't yet used it, but notice the rotation action is quite stiff towards one end, and wondering if this is normal?

Might loosen off in use of course, but it feels sufficiently stiff to unscrew from the filter thread in use, but as said, not used it yet.
Now tried it; does unscrew in action. Can't decide whether it's sufficiently a nuisance to go through the hassle of returning it though!

My problem.
