Can't offer a solution, but unfortunately I've seen this posted a few times. If in warranty, then in for repair.

When Pentax includes a proper viewfinder in their better compacts (or Ricoh for that matter), I'll buy one tomorrow. Unfortunately I don't see one coming so since a viewfinder is an absolute requirement for me it's 'no sale' Pentax.

I really can't do with arm's length photography!

Is the converter 3rd party?

Nigel, as an interested (K5II) party, will your work lead to a simple set of instructions as to how to 'boost' K5II output to equal K5IIs?

This is of more academic interest to me as I don't really 'do' pp, but have LR4, etc., available should I want/need to.

For the record, I have always seen a positive difference in the various sample shots from the K5IIs vs. the K5II, but chose to buy a K5II simply because I didn't think the difference was worth £160.

I appreciate what you're doing here though.
