I would appreciate some help on how one manages to retrieve images from the card and place them into a folder on the PC. The newly published manual (on the pentax site) is silent on this. I had thought that one could read the images from the card reader in my PC just as I do with ordinary cards, but the flu card does not seem to be recognised. I am using a Nexus 7 and have succeeded in getting the tethering up and running but not in being able to access any of the images on my PC. I can see them on the nexus but how do I transfer them to my PC? I got some advice on the other forum, but it is very technical to say the least and in fact too much so for me to be able to understand it! Is my card defective or can flu cards not be read in a card reader? Any help would be much appreciated as I am beginning to feel that any advantage from tethering is negated by the difficulty of operating it.
From what I have gathered the answer seems to be 'one at a time'. When you select the image you want to save, right click and choose where to save to, then save it.

This card does not appear to have the facility to save any/all images automatically, nor is it intended to download via a card reader. Whole different concept.

The old Lowepro Omni (Sport, Traveler (sic), Trecker, ) series all fitted into specific peli cases. The sport has a shoulder strap and belt and mine carries, K-5 with Tamron 17-50, 55-300, DAL35 and DAL50, and some odds and sods.

There may be similar cases available today. The Omni's come up on ebay occasionally and the biggest with a peli (or Lowepro branded version) go for a reasonable price.
Thanks Doug. I'm after something specific to transport my shed load of lenses along on top of a fishing tackle trolley.

My kit is way too heavy to carry in a back-pack for any length of time, (not that anyone makes one big enough, and since I never know what I might be photography when I'm out and about I always take everything, including a kitchen sink or too!! As ever, though, I find I only use one or two lenses.

It's the curse of LBA; as I've got 'em I want to take 'em! Wouldn't be so bad if I actually made decent photo's!

Just for comparison I just measured a Sigma lens. Once again the quoted length excludes the mount and hood.
Thanks Philip. Maybe it's a Japanese thing?

Thanks guys.

Maybe you're right, but I don't remove lens mounts, etc. in order to stow my gear.

If I have a lens hood that's reversible, that's what I do. I can't see any benefit whatever in giving dimensions for the bit in the middle that is next to useless without the bits on each end! Even if I don't use the lens hood, (and I'm not sure how easy it would be to remove it from the 70), the mount must count in the overall length surely?

And who wants to use a lens without it's hood?

Have any of you looked at the dimensions quoted for Pentax lenses?

I mean diameter and length.

I have been trying to use published Pentax lens data to work out how big a waterproof Peli style box I might need, but during the process found that either my lenses have grown or Pentax can't measure!

As an example, a DA70mm f2.4 Limited is quoted as being 1"/26mm long. Really? Lots of other examples that I won't bore you all with.

Anyone know a reliable source for such data, or is it just down to me and a ruler?

Also, here for further information (includes link back to link above);

Never tried CIF, so no idea whether this will work, and in any event the first link is back to a 2010/K7 post, but...

There's no import duty from other members of the EU.

I can't recommend any online retailers for Pentax gear. I rarely buy anything new, and usually there are better deals to be had from the likes of SRS or the 2nd hand markets.
Thanks.

Yep, 399 euros.
Thanks for that.

Can you recommend any on-line European retailers, preferably one's that offer free/cheap p&p?

I'd be interested in comparing prices against the UK, although I must be honest and say I'm never sure whether there's any import duty, etc, to add.
