Sounds like a compatibility issue with the TC to me.

Hi Sue, I won'i be much help here sorry. I don't own the Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 but have 4 TC's, 2 of them are Teleplus SHQ models 1.5x and 1.7x and work well with DA*200 and DA*300 SDM lenses although they tend to hunt a little depending on conditions. I have a Teleplus 2x MC7 (not DG) this will not work with SDM lemses but works fine with normal screw drive AF lenses, I'm surprised yours works with Sigma HSM, both the SHQ converters also work fine with conventional AF. The only thing I can suggest is cleaning the contacts on the back of your Tamron lens mount to see if that may be causing the problem. The Tamron 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro I have works fine with all the converters I own.

Bigger numbers always sell and if Canikon start bringing out 24MP APS-C cameras in a few years then pentax is going to have to do the same.
I'm not so sure, Nikon only recently went to 16Mp with the D7000 AFAIK in APS-C, they sold D300's in droves based on the image quality of 12.3Mp amongst other attributes. Personally 16Mp would suit me fine, now just concentrate on low noise, better AF, better metering etc. Leave out the gimmicks................and get the QC sorted

Not the best shot in the world, but confirms the full-frame capability of this excellent little lens. Taken in P mode on a P30n, 400ASA Superia.
That's good to know, do you know what aperture was used? It is a very similar formula to the FA-35/2 - 6 elements in 5 groups:

What happens when the sensors have a much greater resolution than even the sharpest prime? Are you going to stop buying primes as well?
When/if that happens I'll not buy that camera, but I would assume that Pentax would have the good sense not to go there:

Some interesting comments on the 18Mp Canon 7D here:

It only seems to like the "Top Lenses" My DA*300mm seems OK straight from the camera, but lesser lenses don't look too good and I'm not that sure that sharpening will improve matters.
At 16Mp the censor is no longer the limit of resolution, it's the lens you have on the front of the camera. Even the FA 43 Ltd would struggle to outresolve the censor at it's optimum aperture. I found myself only buying primes after upgrading from K10D to K20D.

If you look at the lens mount, does it have any of the little studs as on the A series lens? I can't think what else "P" would be for.
It's for use with program modes on Ricoh cameras such as the Ricoh XRX.
