and to say "Futhermore, there are many users with older Pentax bodies (*ist, K10D, K20D) who aren't upgrading to the current models simply because they're not enough of a leap forward." is nonsense
I'd disagree here, I kept the K20D when the K7 came out, partly due to the ergonomics but mainly because I didn't see it as an upgrade. The K5 has had too many teething problems for me so I'm waiting to see what appears next and I still have the *istD and K10D.

Lovely set of images David, it's been a year of Black 5's for me and 45305 keeps standing in for other locos.

Would you be interested in a straight swap for a very good condition FA*24 by any chance?
Sorry, no, I've had 3 FA*24/2's and never had one that was sharp at the edge until f/8 I now use my trusty Sigma 24/2.8 AF instead. Thanks for the offer.

John

Lovely condition, perfect optics, complete with both genuine caps, cased boxed. Selling due to lack of use, having a DA*16-50 ans a Siggy 10-20 that always seem to get preference. Financial circumstances dictate that I need to rationalise my lens kit hence I'm selling something I can obtain again if need be. Payment by cheque, Postal order or PayPal gift with buyer paying fees, asking £400 + postage at cost, will upload photos if requested. I'll be very sad to see this go as I lusted after this lens for quite some time but needs must.

That was a lucky find, they're quite hard to come by and can be expensive but worth it IMHO.

Can't seem to find it on eBay, care to provide a link? Thanks in advance! My eyesight isn't as good as it used to be.
They come up every now and then s/h, or you could try your local camera shop if there are any left
